An advanced search page that filters all content by all possible criteria
Would like a way to do complex searches that span a variety of criteria. For example: all groups or users with a specific topic, or all wiki pages edited since a certain date.
The advanced search would expose nearly all the filter available and let users do it their way.

Sorry, we were not in control over the tech used at the event, but most of the issues were resolved. Thanks for the feedback.

Keep members from being involuntarily logged off
Members are getting logged out unexpectedly when visiting certain pages, or after not using the site for only a brief period of time.
If this happened to you, please add a comment with as much detail as possible. For example, what page causes you to get logged out? If it's a time issue, how long were you away from the window with hastac.org in it, and what else where you doing?
Please also let us know your operating system and browser version. Thanks!
3 votesAlthough we never identified the cause of this problem, it has not been observed for several months now, so we hope it is resolved.

Make preview reflect that actual column width of live posts.
Currently, blog preview displays something COMPLETELY different from what appears when the post goes live. This is because the preview function assumes that the post will use the entire content width, but in reality posts only get a small portion of the content column.

Filter Fix
Using latest Mozilla, orange buttons in left window for filtering between Job Opps, CFPs, and Grants do not work for me. Correlative links in right nav area do.
3 votesThese 3 filter buttons were actually supposed to be removed since the links in the navigation do the same thing. Thanks for the heads up.

Bring back statistics about the number of reads
I wish we could still see how many reads our posts get. The old site had that functionality. I want it back.
2 votesI’m happy to report this is done! It is only visible to users when signed in. It gets data from Google Analytics so is much more accurate than before, and has negligible load on our server.
You can see the view count with the meta data on the left side of each post.

Post-login redirect to origin instead of profile
After logging in, the user should be directed to the page she started on rather than her profile page.
This might be done easily if a token can be used ti pull the URL when clickingon the login button, eg: ".../login?destination=[token]..."
2 votesWe are happy to announce that this improvement was implemented this summer.

We can do this for you on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us hastac.org/contact with the URL in question.

Make the immediate details of the site readily available to users
Took me a few minutes to figure out exactly what the purpose of the site was.
2 votesWe’re always working to better explain HASTAC, which is an inherently complex organization. The web site seeks to balance the needs of our members with the interests of new visitors.
We’re open to any suggestions about how to do this more effectively. We are currently considering a splash page to greet new visitors, for example.

Mobile redirect and page content
I tried following this link on my phone, and the result had the right page title but only showed the tapocs/tags menu (twice) and no content beyond the author's name.

2 votesThis should be fixed now. I’ve updated and simplified our mobile templates. Please let us know if you continue to have problems with the mobile site.

Modify a principle in the Duke 21C Manifesto
One of the principles of the Duke 21C Manifesto is stated as follows:
◾The purpose of education is to enrich lives and to help people achieve their individual and collective goals.
Though I do agree with this principle, I think it overlooks the posibility that a person may not have their goals, individual or collective, defined clearly, or not at all. Education, should help an individual come in contact with varying aspects of human culture, be exposed to different ways of thinking, and other knowledge/understandings/tools that will help/facilitate him/her to explore the possibilities and find the goals h/she will strive…1 vote -

This feature, or as close as we can currently come to it, has been added with the deployment of our new Drupal 7 site.
We now offer two options for deletion:
one option for the blocking (disabling) and retaining of the account, its username, content, and identifying information and another option for anonymizing the account name and details while retaining its user-generated content. For security and privacy reasons both options still require the intervention of a HASTAC site administrator.

Points page
The points page for individual users is confusing. Will there be descriptions of what they're for? Also, why are there negative points being added? Needs documentation and clearer interface.
1 voteCompleted as part of new site / relaunch of July 2015.

Granted the interface could be improved. There is some documentation of the points system at http://hastac.org/content/badges and I would also like to establish a leaderboard based on points and other activity. -
Toggle Items on Dashboard
The "toggle items" button on the dashboard puts the checkboxes over existing text, making it very hard to read. Also, looks sloppy.

Categories for Feedback
Text in categories on feedback form is invisible unless moused-over in Firefox. Displays properly in Chrome. Both on Kubuntu Linux.
1 voteThis is a Uservoice issue, so there’s nothing we can do about it but file the bug with them. Sorry!

Newsletter footer should be more visible
The lines of text at the bottom of the newsletter, especially the one that says "Click here to forward to a friend" should be lighter grey or white so that they are more readable.
1 voteThis has been resolved by making the newsletter background white instead of dark blue.
